On April 22—#EarthDay—thousands of scientists and their supporters gathered from Sydney to southern Manhattan to #MarchforScience, for facts over fiction, and for the unbridled pursuit of progress. Protesters wore lab coats and carried banners with statements like “Climate change is real, clean coal is not,” and “The oceans are rising, so are we” as a light rain on the Washington mall and in Manhattan reminded everyone who’s really in charge. Commissioned for Vogue’s special Christmas issues, #IrvingPenn created nine flower portfolios for the magazine between 1967 and 1971. Though the subject matter was not chosen by Penn, flowers “became a passion for the duration of the commission.” In honor of “Irving Penn: The Centennial” opening at the @metmuseum, we chart more of the great photographer’s career, by the numbers, in the link in our bio.

With new music out in May and an official creative director title at @shopuniform, @asapferg is making 2017 a year of breaking ground and, perhaps more important, giving back. His latest collaboration, @officialtraplord x @shopuniform, includes 10 pieces, all of which retail for under $200 and benefit children in need. “The aesthetic of Traplord was built on the fact that I didn’t have anything,” Ferg notes. “I want these kids to know that they are lords and that they can become the highest of the high.” Tap the link in our bio for the full story and your exclusive first look at the limited-edition streetwear capsule. In the heart of Chicago, Sunday best is its own religion. This Sunday, photographer @adamjasoncohen went to Easter service in Garfield Park, North Lawndale, and Austin. It was a seasonally hot one on the West Side, but congregates still came decked out to the nines. “Easter Sunday is filled with hope in Chicago—a place where it is very easily lost,” he said. “Despite the fact that these areas, which are home to the churches, are forgotten about by local government, the people show an awesome optimism and strength. I saw that strength on Sunday.” Tap the link in our bio to see more. Photographed by @adamjasoncohen.

#ReiKawakubo pushed buttons with a Spring 1997 collection for @CommedesGarcons titled Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body. Often referred to as the “lumps and bumps” show, it featured tubelike gingham dresses stuffed with lumpen filler that sculpted—some said deformed—a new silhouette. “It’s our job to question convention,” the Japanese designer told Vogue. “If we don’t take risks, then who will?” Tap the link in our bio to see every look.

Through photographer @cassblackbird’s lens, family life in all of its messy, wacky, repetitive, emotional wildness has never looked more riveting and gorgeous. Here are two moms who have an “equal desire to connect” with each other and their babies, and who believe that the strength of a relationship resides in one’s ability to reveal “the lonely part, the messy part” of the psyche, to share “what it looks like to be vulnerable.” Says her partner @ali_r_bird, “Cass is really aware of being a public figure who is gay and has the potential to affect other people who may feel they can’t have a child or a family.” In celebration of Vogue’s 125th birthday we photographed American women, coast to coast. If you or your family are from South Sudan, you worry: The country is embroiled in a bloody civil war, the world just barely taking note. Enter @msalekwek, #AngokMayen, @ajak_deng, @gracebol, and #AchokMajak, who are all models dedicated to raising awareness about South Sudan and the anxiety that war refugees feel on arrival in the U.S. @msalekwek stresses the need to listen—especially to women—”to really show the beauty of the diversity of us within the continent,” she says. “I think it teaches the younger generation that they can be kind to one another. South Sudan has so much hope—I mean, look at the U.S.: Almost 250 years, and we still have challenges.” Tap the link in our bio to read more. Photographed by @inezandvinoodh, Vogue, January 2017.
